Twister Costume

Hi!
My name is Chris and my boyfriend is Rob. Our costume is a take on “ Twister”. Rob is Bill Paxtons character portraying the storm chaser! He carried “ Dorothys” sensors! I was going to spray paint ping pong balls for the sensors, but I found a whole sleeve of shiny Christmas ornaments at the dollar tree and hot glue gunned them in the bucket.I was the “storm”. My storm cloud hat was covered in tulle, to resemble a stormy cloud. The tulle also hid a battery operated thunder and lightening device! My girlfriend found the “tornado” looking dress at a thrift store for two dollars and I bought two black feathered boas and tacked them to the bottom of the skirt to resemble where the tornado touches the ground. I glued a cow, farm tractor, semi truck and sensor balls around the bottom where the feathers meet the dress. I strung long shiny beads to resemble rain and attached to the hat and long gloves. My makeup, I used old black and purple eye shadow and white out for the lightening and purple lip gloss. We took first place at the party we went to!
