Twisty Costume

My husband Jon is "Twisty" the clown from American Horror Story. I used A white shirt and white pants, then diluted some brown acrylic paint in water and smeared it all over to make them look dirty. The ruffles around his neck I made out of white felt and pinched felt together and sewed up create pleats. I then used red duct tape around the border. The Pom Poms are lightweight balls from the dollar store that I wrapped in fuzzy socks also from dollar store. The mask I hand painted on a lightweight foam visor, then added a more sturdy elastic around back by sewing It on using fishing line. The cap was a plain white bald cap purchased from Costume works that I used used the diluted brown paint to make look dirty, and red paint to look like old blood. I used hair from an old wig that I first glued together, then painted. Made sliced in cap, and duct taped the hair on the inside of cap through the slits. Overall cost was approximately $40.
