Uncle Sam and The 'Erican Dream Costume

My boyfriend and I came up with this costume idea a few months ago. My name is Erica and his name is Sam, so we thought it would be clever for him to dress as Uncle Sam and since "Erica" is in the word "America," it would be perfectly fitting to dress as the 'Erican Dream. We always refer to ourselves as "SAMERICA," so this tied into that theme well. We spent weeks looking all over NY and CT for an Uncle Sam hat! It was difficult to find, but we finally found ONE in Norwalk, CT (after browsing in and calling every store). The blazer he is wearing was the LAST one on clearance at Spencer's, and happened to be in his size. For my outfit, I found my sparkly American Flag dress at Charlotte Russe, and then I went to the dollar store and discovered sparkly red letter stickers. I stuck them on the dress and spelled out 'Erican Dream. I also bought a sparkly blue and white christmas garland, shiny leggings, and white boots-- all for a pretty inexpensive price. We love the U.S.A. and we love each other, so we wanted to express and represent in the most spirited way we could!
