This homemade costume for couples entered our 2015 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Laura, the 'Unconditional Surrender' costume creator:
This is my boyfriend and I, posing as the sailor and the nurse from the 1940's picture in Times Square. I got the idea for the costume long ago when I saw the "Unconditional Surrender" statue in Sarasota, FL and realized how easy it would be to put together this vintage costume. The sailor costume is not a real uniform (unfortunately it costs a fortune!) but the nurse outfit was put together with clothing from thrift stores to give it an authentic look. We practiced the pose for about 20 minutes just to get it right!
