Venus Fly Trap Costume

This is what my son Colton wanted to be for halloween. I don't sew, so this took some trial & error. The "fly" was made with Christmas bulb eyes, a straw nose, and wings cut from clear freezer meal lids. I used sandpaper on wings to add texture. I used a haloween spider decoration for the fly body after cutting off the 2 extra legs.
The fly trap head & hands were made with felt & hot glue & head stuffed with batting. No sewing. The "pot" was a pop open hamper (with bottom mesh cut out) covered with drawer liner paper (both from dollar store). The vine is just some cord with felt leaves.
Tip: We have to use a $$ store hat to tuck into the head pc to keep it on better (cowboy style). We tried at first to use my son's head as the fly but it looked silly and was uncomfortable.
