This homemade costume for boys entered our 2018 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Cheryl, the 'Viking King' costume creator:
My son, Marcus wore this costume, last year. He will be wearing it again this Halloween.
The helmet is made from plastic canvas cross stitch and the horns are made from felt.
Beard is made from many different varieties of yarn and string and there are hundreds of individual strands attached to plastic canvas by special knots.
Cuffs on arms and legs are made from very long faux fur.
Underneath he is wearing a black athletic suit, black vest.
The cape is made of broadcloth, faux fur and reflective strips.
Weapons and armour is a mismatched collection of plastic Dollarstore pieces.
The shield is made from corrugated plastic board, plastic canvas cross stitch, duct tape, and yarn.
Throughout the costume I have plastic canvas cross stitch, beads, yarn braids, Halloween jewelry, and bells!
He won first place in our local shopping malls Halloween costume contest (no money involved, he just won a toy) for his age group.
