A word from Jillian, the 'Wall-E' costume creator:
My 4 year old son wanted to be Wall-E this year. That is currently his favorite movie. And he LOVES robots! We used a moving box for the body, duct tape for hands and part of body, diaper boxes for hands and on goggles. I got restoration goggles from Home Depot and we put cardboard over them for the eyes. We made hands over top my moms hands and converted to my son. To make the rust we used watered down brown paint and cinnamon. It smelled good :) A real cooler was too heavy so we used a McDonald's happy meal box and I painted it. He would turn around and have candy put in his cooler. I used a piece of foam from a computer box and painted gray lines for the tracks. He would go down on his knees to get in Wall-E position. We used an LED light switch on the body and an old boot for the plant. He also wore the cockroach and asked people to touch his bug. We had so much fun with this and received numerous compliments on his costume.
