This homemade costume for girls entered our 2017 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Haley, the 'Maci & her Great Balloon' costume creator:
My daughter Maci has cerebral palsy and is in a wheelchair. I wanted her to be a pilot for Halloween but not in an airplane but in a hot air balloon!
I made the balloon basket by weaving cardboard and then painted pool noodles brown and wrapped them in burlap to go around the top. I used a large beach ball for the ballon and attached it with dowel rods and twine. I added stuffed burlap bags for the weights!
