A word from Denise, the 'Witch’s Cauldron' costume creator:
My 3 year old twin granddaughters wanted to be a witch and a black cat for Halloween so I came up with the idea to make a cauldron costume to go along with their theme. I made a paper mache mold around an extra large balloon for the cauldron using newspaper and flour/ water mixture. Once dried, I spray painted it black. I attached green fairy lights around the top of the cauldron with hot glue, then covered with spray foam to create a bubbling brew. This was then spray painted fluorescent green. For the fire I used red, orange and yellow tulle and added orange fairy lights. The bubbles on my shirt were made with plastic ornaments spray painted green and attached with hot glue. I stapled black straps to the cauldron to wear over the shoulder. The fairy lights were purchased from Amazon for $14. The tulle was $3 per roll, also from Amazon. The spray paint and spray foam were purchased from Home Depot, $7 per can. Everything else I already had on hand. Total cost for the costume was $58. It was a very fun project to make and it was a big hit this Halloween.
