A word from Darcee, the 'Big Hero 6 Family' costume creator:
This is our family....Our children love the Disney show Big Hero 6 and wanted our family to dress up as the character for Halloween. WE have a 4 yr old, 2 yr old, and an 8 month old. For the Go Go costume, we used foam sheets to cut out the armor and then used the velcro with sticky backing to attach the armor. We used 6" and 8" styrofoam circles to make the disks and then painted them with acrylic paint. We hot glued magnets to the back of the disks and on the wrist armor and boots to attach the disks. Our 2 year old loved playing with the disks. We covered our daughters shoes and lower legs with saran wrap and then repeated this process with duck tape to make the boots. The helmet was made out of a foam construction hat that we just cut to make the shape of the helmet. We then added details to the helmet with some duck tape and a Sharpie marker. Our daughter loved this costume and thought she was a real super hero when she put on the costume.
For the Wasabi costume, my husband bought a wig and then used latex paint to paint his face the brown color. He cut up a piece of red fabric for the headband and belt. He used duck tape for his boots and used foamcore board to make the handheld lasers. The lasers were spray painted to look like the lasers on the movie. He spray painted some old goggles and old headphones for the mask.
We used duck tape to make armor on our baby Baymax. The hat was purchased. We also purchased the Hiro costume. We bought the main tunic for the Honey Lemon costume and then painted styrofoam balls and hot glued them to the purse. We also filled the purse with more balls so that our daughter could throw them when she wanted.
