Edward Scissorhands Costume

My 5 year old son decided he wanted to be Edward after watching the movie. It was a fairly easy costume to make. I obtained black pleather from a local fabric store for about $8.00. I sewed him the shirt and pants. We obtained various belts at thrift stores. We made his scissorhands from gloves, plastic knives and a couple nuts and bolts. I used make up we already had. The splurge was used on the wig. He won first place in our local costume contest. Total price was around $30.00. He loved the costume and got so many great compliments on it!!
