Peacock Costume

My daughter (6) is a dancer. I got the idea for her costume by trying to recycle her recital outfit. I used an oriental plastic folding fan to glue real peacock feathers on. I got the feathers from a few friends who raise peacocks, and the rest from an online source.

I found the tutorial for her makeup online on YouTube, and got the shoes for a STEAL on clearance at Target.

I attached the tail to her costume by cutting small slits in either side of her outfit and gluing a satin ribbon onto the fan BEFORE the feathers. Then I put velcro on the ribbon, and threaded it through her costume to connect around her belly. Then, I sewed 2 loops of thread onto the back of her costume and hooked them onto small picture hooks which I glued onto the tail.
