A word from Barbara, the 'Fallen Angel' costume creator:
I made this costume for my 50th Birthday celebration! I was inspired by the typical good vs evil lol. My boyfriend was a devil.
I started with a thrift store wedding dress. I used the top and had to spray paint it white. I made the skirt from black out shade material from walmart. Just a simple skirt pattern and cut out feather shapes and hot glued them on.
Next I made the wings! I used yard sticks because they were lightweight and added bolts with 6 washers in between for free movement. I added eyelets and ran paracord from the bottom joint in the wing to the back plate (1/2" plywood), down to my hands. I tied a ring so I could pull the cord. They opened up perfect everytime! The feathers I ordered online. Turkey pointers and smaller ones. I just hot glued them to some white material I had and stapled it to the wing frames that did not move. I then make wrist and andle bands with leftover feathers and Velcro. Same with the thrift store shoes I found. The headress and shoulder pads were made with cardboard, material, feathers and some of the decorations on the wedding dress. Hot glue was definitely my friend. I used a lot of it
