Felix & Me Costume

This is me in the box with "Felix". I got the idea from youtube. Won 1st place in contest at work.
First take a plastic coat hanger & saw off the curved part of the hook but leave some of the hook. Next duct tape a narrow long plastic PVC pipe around what is left of the coat hanger hook & the plastic pipe.
Take heavy construction foam about 5 inches wide x the length of how tall you want him to be & zip tie it to the plastic PVC pipe. Next use a left over piece of paneling the same width & length as the construction foam. Important: just the paneling is going to be inserted into a slit in the back of the box so do not put zip ties where the box will be.
Next used a "mastectomy pillow" that was homemade - it was lightly stuffed & had a velcro strap in the back. Wrapped it around hanger hook & pinned strap with safety pin.
Next put on large man's black turtleneck sweater & pinned up the bottom to make chest fuller.
Next was man's long sleeved green shirt size Extra Large.has to be long enough to cover sides of box.
Next added size large man's hoodie with green shirt sleeves in the hoodie sleeves.
Took foam pipe insulation & inserted into sleeves. Did not attach to shoulder area - it just stayed.
Head was a manikin head that I made to look like a boy several years ago. Got mask from Dollar General & put over the face.
Tied hoodie tight around the head.
Box: I cut a tall box in 1/2 all the way around. Took 1 side of the scrap box, folded it in half & taped to back of box - think of it as a V shape. 1 side is inside & 1 side is at back of box. Cut a slit thru the flap & the box so that the paneling can be inserted. Add a piece of foam where the box & paneling are going to be attached. Make hole thru box & the paneling & wire them all together.
Legs in Box: got a used flexible dryer vent from a resale store & inserted into jogging pants. Bent for knees. Attached vent to back of pants with large safety pins. Stuffed socks with fiberfill & attached front of sock to inside dryer vent & back of sock to outside dryer vent with safety pins.
Cut opening in bottom of box to fit my body.
After all done, wrapped duct tape around entire foam, PVC pipe, & paneling several times to hold & zip tied arms to box & zip tied bottom of hoodie zipper to box & inside of zipper to box.
I stepped into box, lifted it up & had someone insert small shelf brackets between my belt & inside my back pockets.
