Head in a Jar Costume

Head in a Jar Costume

Costume type:  Costumes for Girls
Category:Halloween Costumes

This homemade costume for girls entered our 2009 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Kimberly, the 'Head in Jar' costume creator:

My daughter wanted a unique costume for Halloween this year and we came up with a headless solution. We tried to keep it gore free for her school, and the jar seemed like the best way to go. It was easy for her to maneuver around and she was a hit at her school.

#32 comment by Heather October 31, 2013

I did this for my son and we just made an upper body base with cardboard and duct tape. Sort of like making a robot box but cut out the front for the head to stick through. We cut the back out of a plastic cookie jar and safety pinned the gloves together. A little cotton, face paint and glow sticks and your good to go! Happy Halloween!

All you need is a trench coat and button their head in the middle of the coat then stuff the top part and the arms with plastic bags. Get a large plastic jar and cut the bottom off it and place it on top of their head
