A word from Melanie, the 'Headless Girl' costume creator:
This is my 5yr old daughter, Lexci. She had this idea to be a headless girl for more than a year now. I found the dress at a local thrift shop. I had an idea to use a rolling back pack with the handle extended up and tape a long piece of cardboard to it (shoulders) I then used an empty kool-aid container and taped it to the shoulders to make a neck. I then, wrapped it in brown paper and wanted it to be textured to make it look bloody so I came up with using hot glue and letting it drip and get stringy, then painted away! I cut a hole out for her head, stuffed the arms with plastic bags, added hands stuffed with paper, pinned them in place and added more "blood" and spider webs! Total cost: $6
