Mario and Luigi Karts Costume

These costumes were built for my sons, Noah (5) and Levi (2). As an art teacher, I enjoy taking on the task of putting together their Halloween costumes. They are both really into Mario Kart and quickly agreed on this costume idea. The boys selected their favorite karts and then I designed the karts to fit each child. The karts were constructed of cardboard, masking tape, hot glue and acrylic paint. The karts were clipped to suspenders so they could worn along with their Mario and Luigi costumes. The most useful technique was scoring the top layer of cardboard and orienting the corrugation in the appropriate direction in order to achieve smooth curves and bends. Overall they turned out to be a HUGE success.
