This homemade costume for couples entered our 2016 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Sarah, the 'Mary Poppins and Bert the Chimney Sweep' costume creator:
My boyfriend Zaid and I went as Mary Poppins and Bert this year. I made the Chimney Sweep for $4 out of a $1 broom, a $1 half circle floral foam piece, and $2 spray paint. I made my hat with a cheap derby hat I bought online and some flowers from the craft store. I made the Mary Poppins bow with ribbon and made the parrot umbrella with paper mache and acrylic paint. Everything else we either had in our closets or purchased.
