This homemade costume for babies entered our 2014 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Irene, the 'The Littlest Mermaid' costume creator:
It was my daughter Nora's first Halloween. I always sing her songs from Disney's The Little Mermaid and she loves it, so I thought she'd enjoy being a mermaid for the day. I sewed her costume myself (with help from my Mom). The tail was made from sequined fabric which I sewed into the shape I liked. I stuffed the end with batting to fill it out. The top was sewn like a tube top with elastic in the back and a band of fabric in the middle on the front to gather the fabric.
The headband was made from a shell I found, hot glued to a piece of sequined elastic.
I bought a fish shower curtain to lay her on for her photo op!
She LOVED being a Mermaid for her first Halloween and would love to be your contest winner!
