This homemade costume for girls entered our 2014 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Ashley, the 'Weeping Angel' costume creator:
My 7 year old daughter is wearing the costume. It is from the tv series Doctor Who. Overall I spent about $50 on the whole costume. The most expensive part of the costume was the spray paint!.. And The wig was the most time consuming part of the costume.
The wig was made with grey yarn woven into every other hole a wig cap, and styled to fit on her head. The wings were store bought feather wings that I then sprayed with concrete texture spray paint. The dress was made from a grey sheet, and I used a basic 'Peplos' pattern to make it look and fit just right. She is wearing a long sleeve shirt under the dress and grey gloves. All of the fabric and materials were sprayed with the same concrete texture spray paint to blend them all together. For the final touch, I painted her skiing grey with body paint.
It has been a fun experience and I am quite happy with the outcome!
Snapping her picture of her in front of our door that is painted like a Tardis (also from Doctor Who) made it 100 timer netter!
I hope you all enjoy it!
