This homemade costume for babies entered our 2016 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Diana, the 'Where the Wild Things Are' costume creator:
Luca- wearing Max costume
Grey romper- added faux fur, buttons, and regular felt (claws) tail: faux fur with pipe cleaner
Hat- faux fur glued to felt and hand sewed together, ears made from pipe cleaners
Crown- felt and burlap, faux fur around pipe cleaner shaped in a circle
Roman- wearing the ox
old sweater, hot glued gunned on faux fur on chest and around wrist.
bottoms- old sweats, felt cut out in a triangle shape and glued on sweats, tail made from pipe cleaner and faux fur
Hat- faux fur glued to felt and hand sewed together, horns made out of felt, sewed in a triangle stuffed with cotton and glued to hat.
Nixon- wearing carol
old strip top with faux fur glued to wrist area
bottoms- old sweats, felt cut out in half oval shape and glued on sweats, tail made from pipe cleaner and faux fur
Hat- faux fur glued to felt and hand sewed together, horns made from felt, sewed in a triangle shape stuffed with cotton and glued on hat.
costume total for felt, etc: $20
sailboat
wooden crate ($8 on sale at joanns) stained and distressed. 4x caster wheels ($3 each) attached with nuts and bolts. foam for seat that is covered in felt for comfort. sail- felt glued to dowels ($1.25 each) x2. front of the boar made from foam poster board ($1, from dollar tree) pained the same color.
outfits took a total of 5 days to make on and off.
